CARE, CONNECT
and COMMUNITY
It's only the modern mind that assumes that "you" is usually about the individual; up until recently, and in the bible, it usually speaks to the community and then the individual. In the bible God says to Adam, "it is not good for man to be alone." Jesus gathered twelve around him - even the Son of God did not go it alone!
Being in community is part of what it is to be human. I am not saying we all like it, or that we like it all of the time, or even that we are very good at it, but Christians believe that being in community is how we are made. Connecting with one another, caring for one another, being in community - even with those we wouldn't consider friends - is part of what it means to be human. "It is not good for one to be alone" Genesis 2.18
